Positioning
SUNFLEX is a German-origin aluminium folding-door systems manufacturer represented in the UK. SF55 and SF75 systems are bottom-loaded and top-guided, with running gear positioned around the threshold and drainage detail rather than being top-hung.
Sunflex bottom-loaded running gear, heat-related locking and track care — what we see most on SUNFLEX doorsets
Sunflex SF55 documentation describes bottom-loaded construction. The wheel assemblies sit above the water-drainage area while the head provides guidance, so a report of a door being "off its rollers" needs the lower running gear and the drainage relationship inspected together.
The manufacturer's care guidance is unusually practical about the track: stones, cement and other debris can damage the wheels, so vacuuming and appropriate silicone treatment are part of the maintenance route. A noisy Sunflex door is not automatically a failed roller assembly.
Sunflex guidance also recognises heat-related stiffness. On exposed or dark elevations, thermal movement can make locking difficult temporarily; forcing the key or handle can turn a movement issue into a damaged lock or cylinder. We record when the fault appears and test the set under load.
SF55 and SF75 use different system details and replacement routes. We identify the exact range, threshold type, running gear and seal profile before specifying a part, especially where corrosion or contaminated lubricant has affected exposed hardware.
What the assessment actually involves.
It starts with more than a quick look at the handle. Every assessment follows the same nine-stage assessment process, because that is the only way to quote accurately.
We start with the background and history of the doorset, then take extensive measurements for distortion and check the frame for square and twist. We test operation under load, check drainage paths, and inspect glazing, gaskets and packers. Where parts are involved, components and part numbers are verified against the manufacturer, and every measurement and observation is cross-checked against the manufacturer's recommended tolerances. Only once that cross-check is complete do we provide an accurate quotation.

You do not need to identify your doorset before getting in touch. Many bifold doors are unbranded or contain a combination of components from different manufacturers. Identifying the system, cross-checking component and part availability, and sourcing suitable parts through our established European network of suppliers is our job.
