Deceuninck bifold door repair.
We assess Deceuninck systems for catching panels, poor folding, rattles, draughts and locking faults. The system name can be useful context; the assessment establishes what it actually needs.
Positioning
Deceuninck manufactures window and door systems, including the Decalu 88 aluminium bifold range; Deceuninck systems can also be encountered through fabricators using the company’s profiles and dedicated hardware. Pro-Lock identifies the fitted range and hardware revision rather than assuming every Deceuninck doorset has the same components. Any repair recommendation remains subject to compatible hardware availability.
Catching panels, gaskets and compatible hardware — what we see most on Deceuninck doorsets
A Deceuninck panel that catches or will not fold cleanly may be affected by alignment, hinge movement, running gear or the relationship between the panel and frame. We check the travel of each leaf and identify whether contact occurs at the threshold, the head, a jamb or between adjacent panels. That distinction matters before any adjustment or replacement part is selected.
Rattles are investigated at the point of movement rather than assumed to be a seal fault. Loose or worn hardware, a guide or roller issue, glazing and gasket movement, and panel contact can all produce noise. We assess the doorset under operation and around the perimeter, recording what changes when the panels are folded, closed and locked.
Draughts are checked alongside the seals, gaskets, panel position and closing pressure. Deceuninck’s published material describes dedicated weathersealing and system hardware, but the doorset in front of us may have a particular fabrication and hardware revision. A seal replacement is only sensible if the panel is also sitting correctly and the closing action is doing its job.
Hardware availability is an important part of the Deceuninck repair decision. We verify the component and part number against the manufacturer and available supply route; we do not promise a part before compatibility has been confirmed. If a compatible repair route can be identified, it is set out in the itemised quotation. If it cannot, the report explains that limitation clearly.
Where we see Deceuninck doors
Pro-Lock covers ten counties across the East of England and the South East: Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex. Deceuninck systems are encountered across that area. If local prevalence is uncertain, the assessment still identifies the system, its fitted hardware and the practical repair route. London is outside our service area.
What the assessment actually involves.
This is not a quick look at the handle. Every assessment follows the same nine-stage diagnostic process, and the reason it takes the time it does is that it is the only way to quote accurately.
We start with the background and history of the doorset, then take extensive measurements for distortion and check the frame for square and twist. We test operation under load, check drainage paths, and inspect glazing, gaskets and packers. Where parts are involved, components and part numbers are verified against the manufacturer, and every measurement and observation is cross-checked against the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances. Only once that cross-check is complete do we provide an accurate quotation.
The full process is set out stage by stage on our How it works page.

Cause, not just symptom
Pro-Lock checks the complete doorset and aims to return it to operation as intended by the manufacturer, rather than treating only the immediate symptom. This helps prevent unnecessary stress transferring to mechanical components, reduces the cycle of repeat repairs, and maximises long-term reliability and service life.
Your assessment is carried out by an experienced engineer, not a salesman. We complete an in-depth assessment of all aspects of your bifold doorset, talk you through the findings while we are on site, and provide the information in the report that accompanies the quotation for any repairs recommended.
The findings are followed by a comprehensive report and itemised quotation by email, with repairs arranged separately. No repair work is carried out during the assessment.
The £79 fee covers a professional bifold-door assessment of the complete doorset, credited against the repair cost if you go ahead, and refunded if suitable parts are unavailable and we cannot provide a quote, or if the doorset is considered beyond economical repair. £79 professional assessment, credited against any repair, or refunded if we cannot quote. 12-month warranty on completed repair work.
You do not need to identify your doorset first.
You do not need to identify your doorset before getting in touch. Many bifold doors are unbranded or contain a combination of components from different manufacturers. Identifying the system, cross-checking component and part availability, and sourcing suitable parts through our established European network of suppliers is our job. Pro-Lock regularly repairs bifold door systems that other repairers have classed as obsolete, where a suitable repair route can be identified.
Warranty
All work carried out is backed by our market-leading 12 month warranty, covering our workmanship and any parts supplied and fitted as part of the repair where applicable.
