VEKA bifold door repair.
We assess VEKA systems for misaligned panels, worn rollers, stiff handles, locking faults, and draughts from failed or unevenly compressed seals. The system name can be useful context; the assessment establishes what it actually needs.
Positioning
VEKA is a major European uPVC profile manufacturer. The VEKA Imagine bifold is a purpose-designed uPVC system with multiple threshold options and ERA-developed security hardware. Locally, VEKA doors are fitted by BSF Windows in West Sussex.
VEKA Imagine adjustment points and security hardware — what we see most on VEKA doorsets
The VEKA Imagine system has several distinct adjustment points, including vertical adjustment at the pivot rollers, hinge adjustment between sash and frame, lock compression and shootbolt positioning. That gives an engineer useful scope to correct a doorset that is within tolerance, but it does not remove the need to establish why the panels moved in the first place.
A recurring VEKA complaint is a handle that feels stiff after the panels have settled. The published adjustment arrangement for the Imagine system reflects how closely the hinges, pivots and locking points work together: a small change in sash position alters the relationship between the handle, keeps and shootbolts. We inspect that complete chain rather than forcing the handle.
Threshold choice is also relevant to the repair. A standard, low or other threshold arrangement changes what the bottom of the panel can catch and where drainage needs to run. A door that drags at the threshold may therefore need more than a roller adjustment if the frame has twisted or the drainage route is obstructed.
VEKA’s uPVC profile and weather seals can conceal movement until the compression becomes uneven. We look for the combination of panel alignment, gasket contact and locking pressure that produces a draught or rattle. Replacing a seal without restoring the panel position can leave the underlying fault untouched.

What the assessment actually involves.
This is not a quick look at the handle. Every assessment follows the same nine-stage diagnostic process, and the reason it takes the time it does is that it is the only way to quote accurately.
We start with the background and history of the doorset, then take extensive measurements for distortion and check the frame for square and twist. We test operation under load, check drainage paths, and inspect glazing, gaskets and packers. Where parts are involved, components and part numbers are verified against the manufacturer, and every measurement and observation is cross-checked against the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances. Only once that cross-check is complete do we provide an accurate quotation.
The full process is set out stage by stage on our How it works page.

- Faulty locks, cylinders, handles, keeps, tracks, guides, and seals
Cause, not just symptom
Pro-Lock checks the complete doorset and aims to return it to operation as intended by the manufacturer, rather than treating only the immediate symptom. This helps prevent unnecessary stress transferring to mechanical components, reduces the cycle of repeat repairs, and maximises long-term reliability and service life.
Your assessment is carried out by an experienced engineer, not a salesman. We complete an in-depth assessment of all aspects of your bifold doorset, talk you through the findings while we are on site, and provide the information in the report that accompanies the quotation for any repairs recommended.
The findings are followed by a comprehensive report and itemised quotation by email, with repairs arranged separately. No repair work is carried out during the assessment.
The £79 fee covers a professional bifold-door assessment of the complete doorset, credited against the repair cost if you go ahead, and refunded if suitable parts are unavailable and we cannot provide a quote, or if the doorset is considered beyond economical repair. £79 professional assessment, credited against any repair, or refunded if we cannot quote. 12-month warranty on completed repair work.
You do not need to identify your doorset first.
You do not need to identify your doorset before getting in touch. Many bifold doors are unbranded or contain a combination of components from different manufacturers. Identifying the system, cross-checking component and part availability, and sourcing suitable parts through our established European network of suppliers is our job. Pro-Lock regularly repairs bifold door systems that other repairers have classed as obsolete, where a suitable repair route can be identified.
Warranty
All work carried out is backed by our market-leading 12 month warranty, covering our workmanship and any parts supplied and fitted as part of the repair where applicable.
