Siegenia-Aubi is a German hardware manufacturer whose folding gear is specified into uPVC, timber, and aluminium bifold doorsets from many profile suppliers. The hardware itself is often the useful identification point rather than a badge on the doorset, so Pro-Lock inspects the rollers, hinges, locking gear, and threshold before confirming the fitted generation.

The fitted hardware generation matters.
FS-PORTAL is Siegenia-Aubi folding-sliding hardware for timber, PVCu, and aluminium profiles. Depending on configuration, it supports up to seven sashes and openings of roughly 6.3 m, with per-sash loads up to about 150 kg.
A typical set includes top and bottom bogie or roller carriages running in the head rail and threshold track, a thermally broken threshold for step-free access, panel and frame hinges, multipoint locking gear with hook bolts and keeps, and handle gearboxes. The current range for aluminium eurogroove folding doors is marketed as Fold and Slide on the ALU XT hardware platform.
Siegenia's wider PORTAL family also includes HS-PORTAL lift-and-slide and CS-PORTAL simple sliding. Only the folding-sliding ranges are relevant to Pro-Lock's work.
Pro-Lock identifies the exact generation of hardware before specifying components. We adjust and realign where the existing gear can be restored, use manufacturer-specific glazing packers for toe and heel adjustment where relevant, and repair rather than replace where a suitable repair is possible. The correct components for the fitted generation are confirmed as part of the assessment.
A door that will not lock is usually an alignment fault rather than a failed lock. The assessment checks how the panels, carriages, hinges, threshold, locking gear, keeps, and seals are working together.
Your assessment is carried out by an experienced engineer, not a salesman. We complete an in-depth assessment of all aspects of your bifold doorset, talk you through the findings while we are on site, and provide the information in the report that accompanies the quotation for any repairs recommended. The £79 fee covers a professional bifold-door assessment of the complete doorset. We take multiple measurements and record detailed observations to identify distortion, alignment issues, components beginning to fail, and underlying causes that could reduce the doorset’s lifespan. Findings are discussed on site. No repair work is carried out during the assessment. The findings are followed by a comprehensive report and itemised quotation by email, with repairs arranged separately. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, the £79 assessment fee is credited against the repair cost, so you do not pay for the assessment in addition to the repair. The fee is also refunded if suitable parts are unavailable and we cannot provide a quote, or if the doorset is considered beyond economical repair. All work carried out is backed by our market-leading 12 month warranty, covering our workmanship and any parts supplied and fitted as part of the repair where applicable. No payment is taken until the repair is completed to your satisfaction. Pro-Lock covers exactly 10 counties: Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex, and West Sussex. London is explicitly excluded from coverage.
