Positioning

Eurocell Aspect is a PVC-U bifold system from Eurocell, using an anodised aluminium roller track and captive stainless-steel wheel assemblies. It is used in manufactured PVC-U doorsets with several threshold choices, including low and room-divider arrangements.

Aspect's roller arrangement is not a generic wheel in a channel. The track uses captive stainless-steel horizontal and vertical wheels, and its fixings must remain flush. Over-tightened fixings can distort the track and create noise or a dropped-feeling panel, so we inspect the track profile as well as the roller assembly.

The system's D-handle includes an anti-mishandling feature intended to prevent the locking bolts being engaged while the door is open. If locking bolts are damaged or the handle has been forced, we trace the operating sequence and inspect the lock and keeps before deciding whether the handle is the cause.

Roller height adjustment is made through a grub screw and a 5mm Allen key, but available adjustment is not a substitute for a twisted frame or displaced glazing. We measure the panel and threshold relationship first, then establish whether the roller is worn, incorrectly set or being overloaded.

Aspect has several threshold configurations, including ramped and room-divider options. A catching panel or water complaint therefore needs the installed threshold and drainage route identified rather than assumed from the brand name.

What the assessment actually involves.

It starts with more than a quick look at the handle. Every assessment follows the same nine-stage assessment process, because that is the only way to quote accurately.

We start with the background and history of the doorset, then take extensive measurements for distortion and check the frame for square and twist. We test operation under load, check drainage paths, and inspect glazing, gaskets and packers. Where parts are involved, components and part numbers are verified against the manufacturer, and every measurement and observation is cross-checked against the manufacturer's recommended tolerances. Only once that cross-check is complete do we provide an accurate quotation.

Identifying the system, cross-checking component and part availability, and sourcing suitable parts through our established European network of suppliers is our job.
