Positioning
Alutech is an international architectural aluminium systems group. Its ALT BF73 is a folding-door system with an insulating barrier, made by partners, with above-ground bottom running gear, aluminium profiles and a range of security and locking hardware.

The BF73 uses above-ground bottom rollers rather than a concealed threshold track. The track, roller load and panel alignment can therefore be inspected directly, but a smooth-looking track does not prove that the glass is correctly supporting the panel.
Alutech installation guidance places importance on toe-and-heel glazing so the glass transfers weight correctly. When that is wrong, a door can drag or catch the bottom track and the locking side can move out of position; we check packers and alignment before replacing the lock.
The BF73 may be fitted with AluLock, a Brisant handle or an Ultion cylinder, and with a six-point hook-lock arrangement. These combinations are not interchangeable by description alone, so the fitted handle, cylinder, gearbox and keeps are recorded before a parts decision.
Public fault reporting for this system is comparatively limited. We are careful not to treat generic aluminium bifold complaints as Alutech-specific evidence, and use the full doorset inspection to decide whether a repair route is practical.
How the assessment supports the right repair.
The assessment follows nine connected stages, from reviewing the doorset’s history and measuring its condition to checking operation, components and manufacturer tolerances. The findings give us a clear basis for an accurate quotation.
We start with the background and history of the doorset, then take extensive measurements for distortion and check the frame for square and twist. We test operation under load, check drainage paths, and inspect glazing, gaskets and packers. Where parts are involved, components and part numbers are verified against the manufacturer, and every measurement and observation is cross-checked against the manufacturer's recommended tolerances. After that cross-check, we provide an accurate quotation based on the assessment findings.

How the assessment supports lasting performance

You do not need to identify your doorset first.
You do not need to identify your doorset before getting in touch. Many bifold doors are unbranded or contain a combination of components from different manufacturers. Identifying the system, cross-checking component and part availability, and sourcing suitable parts through our established European network of suppliers is our job. Pro-Lock regularly repairs bifold door systems that other repairers have classed as obsolete, where a suitable repair route can be identified.
