Obsolete parts do not always mean replacement
Older bifold doors are sometimes described as obsolete simply because a local installer or general repairer cannot identify an available component.
Pro-Lock can investigate older systems and source compatible parts through an established European supplier network where appropriate. This may include rollers, hinges, locks, handles, seals and other system-specific hardware.
Parts availability is always confirmed as part of the assessment process. We do not promise that every obsolete system can be repaired, but we will investigate the available options before recommending replacement.
This is particularly valuable for homeowners who are happy with the appearance, layout and performance potential of their existing doors but have struggled to find suitable parts.
A transparent £79 assessment process
A specialist bifold door repair should begin with accurate diagnosis rather than guesswork.
Pro-Lock’s professional assessment costs £79 and normally lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. During the visit, an experienced engineer examines the doorset, including:

- Rollers, hinges and tracks
- Alignment and movement
- Toe and heel where appropriate
- Locks, handles, keeps and cylinders
- Seals and draught-related issues
- Parts availability and repair options
No repair work is carried out during the assessment. The findings are explained on site, followed by a written report and itemised quotation by email.
If you proceed with the recommended repair, the £79 assessment fee is credited against the repair cost. You do not pay the assessment fee on top of the agreed repair price.
The assessment fee is also refunded if suitable parts are unavailable and Pro-Lock cannot provide a quotation, or if the doorset is considered beyond economical repair.
12-month warranty for peace of mind
All work carried out by Pro-Lock is supported by a 12-month warranty covering workmanship and any parts supplied and fitted as part of the repair, where applicable.
